UNEATLANTICO Proudly Celebrates the Graduation Ceremonies for the Class of 2025–2026

The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) held the graduation ceremonies for the class of 2025–2026 amid a festive atmosphere and with a large turnout; the ceremonies took place on June 19th and 20th in the campus auditorium. In six academic ceremonies, students were joined by family members, faculty, and university officials in a heartfelt celebration of their academic achievements.

The weekend began on Friday, June 19th, with the first day of graduation ceremonies. The morning session brought together students from the following degree programs: Industrial Organization Engineering (IOI), Agro-Food Engineering (IIAA), Computer Engineering (II), Human Nutrition and Dietetics (NHD), Food Science and Technology (CTA), Gastronomic Sciences, and distance learning programs. The afternoon session included the following degree programs: Business Administration and Management (ADE), Audiovisual Communication (CA), Journalism (PER), and Advertising and Public Relations (PRP), which brought the opening day to a close.

On Saturday, June 20th, the celebrations continued with the ceremony for the Sports and Exercise Sciences program (CAFYD), followed by the ceremonies for the Degree in Psychology (PSI), which were held in two sessions due to the large number of graduates. The weekend concluded with a joint ceremony for the Primary Education (EP), Translation and Interpretation (TI), and Applied Languages (LA) programs, the Master’s Degree in Teacher Training, and the Master’s Degree in General Health Psychology.

Throughout the ceremonies, graduates were joined by academic representatives from the university, as well as class sponsors, who offered words of recognition, congratulations, and encouragement as the graduates embark on this new personal and professional chapter in their lives.

Each event featured a performance by the Cantabria Lyric Choir, accompanied by inspiring remarks from the rector of UNEATLANTICO, Rubén Calderón

Degrees in Industrial Organization Engineering, Agro-Food Engineering, Computer Engineering, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Science and Technology, Gastronomic Sciences, and distance learning programs

The first ceremony on Friday brought together students from the fields of engineering, food science, and nutrition, as well as those in distance learning programs. The event featured remarks by Jorge Crespo Álvarez, academic director of the Degree in Industrial Organization Engineering, who addressed the graduates, highlighting the value of hard work and perseverance during their studies, with a special emphasis on the first graduating class of the Degree in Gastronomic Sciences. 

The event sponsor was María Jesús Susinos, the Cantabria Regional Government’s Secretary of Rural Development, Livestock, Fisheries, and Food: “University leaves a very deep impression, and although today you’re closing one chapter, you’re actually opening an even more exciting one.” 

Degrees in Business Administration and Management, Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, and Audiovisual Communication

Friday’s second ceremony was dedicated to students in the ADE program and those pursuing degrees in Audiovisual Communication, Journalism, and Advertising and Public Relations. The dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Cristina Mazas, addressed the graduates at a ceremony marked by emotion and recognition of the work they had done during their time at the university. The 2025-2026 class sponsor was Julieta Anabella Machuca, Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador to Spain, who highlighted the university’s internationalization efforts and congratulated the 19 Salvadoran students who graduated at this ceremony.

Degree in Sports and Exercise Sciences

Saturday’s events began with the graduation ceremony for the Degree in Sports and Exercise Sciences. The event was opened by Fernando Maniega, the program’s academic director, who highlighted the education the students have received, their readiness to take on new professional challenges, and the importance of “learning to fail.” The class sponsor was Juan Carlos Alba Cernadas, president of the Cantabrian Golf Federation. “By combining training and education, you will achieve what is known as respect, recognition, and credibility,” he emphasized at the end of his speech.

Degree in Psychology

Students in the Degree in Psychology celebrated their graduations at two consecutive ceremonies. In both speeches, the vice rector for Research and Knowledge Transfer and academic director of the degree program, Juan Luis Martín Ayala, highlighted the effort, dedication, and academic maturity achieved by the graduates following their university education. The class sponsor was Beatriz Payá González, head of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department at the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital (Santander).

Degrees in Primary Education, Translation and Interpretation, Applied Languages, and Master’s Degrees

Graduation weekend concluded with a ceremony for students in Primary Education, Translation and Interpretation, Applied Languages, the Master’s Degree in Teacher Education, and the Master’s Degree in General Health Psychology. The academic speech was given by Paula Quijano, academic director of the Translation and Interpretation and Applied Languages degree programs. The class sponsor was María Mercedes García Pérez, inspector with the Cantabria Government’s Department of Education and Vocational Training.

With these ceremonies, UNEATLANTICO bid farewell to a new class of graduates in an atmosphere of shared excitement and pride, recognizing the effort and dedication they showed throughout their time at the university and celebrating the start of a new chapter in their personal and professional lives.
