Members of the International Relations Office (ORI) at the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) welcomed the students joining the University through the Erasmus+ mobility program and bilateral agreements with institutions outside the European Higher Education Area.In short, during this first semester, the University will welcome more than 120 students.
The event, held under the name Welcome Day, began with an opening ceremony and welcoming remarks by ORI Director Juan Luis Vidal, who encouraged students to make the most of their Erasmus experience, as well as the academic, cultural, and personal opportunities offered by their time at the University.
Next, Cristina Méndez, Erasmus coordinator, explained the main academic and administrative considerations they should keep in mind during their stay.The session addressed the most important issues related to student orientation, thereby helping students settle in and adapt to university life.
After the informational session, the students enjoyed light refreshments, which provided an opportunity to mingle, strike up conversations, get to know one another, and share their first impressions.During this time, they were also able to discuss their concerns more directly with ORI members.In addition, students received a welcome kit to mark their enrollment at UNEATLANTICO.
To wrap up the day, representatives from the Santander chapter of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) presented the program of activities planned for the coming months, which includes excursions around Santander and the surrounding area, cultural outings, sports competitions, and other recreational activities for international students.
The enrollment of new international students through the Erasmus+ program and bilateral agreements is key to enriching campus life through the presence of young people from different countries and cultures.
