The students Víctor Díaz and Nerea Pérez, of the double degree in Audiovisual Communication (AC) and Advertising and Public Relations (PRP) of the Uninversidad Europea del Atlantico (Universidad Europea del Atlántico, UNEATLANTICO), continue to reap successes with their short film “Kill me, cornuto!” , a production that has not failed to add recognition and selections in the festival circuit.
The project has been written, directed and co-produced by Víctor Díaz, and Nerea Pérez, who has also assumed the art direction. Both students also lead their own production company, Fidelio Producciones, from which they have promoted this work together with Coco Films S.L., by Nuria Sáez Torres and Miguel Ángel Poveda, and Mangrove, made up of Carlos Obregón (director of photography for the short film) and Daniela Calleja (assistant director), who are also students of UNEATLANTICO.
“Kill me, asshole!” was already awarded the Best Direction and Best Short Film awards at the IV Short Film Festival of UNEATLANTICO, marking a promising start in his journey. Subsequently, the short film has been selected in several relevant festivals, including Piélagos en Corto 2026 and Torre en Corto 2026, this last one recognized as a qualifying festival for the Goya Awards. Also, the work has been part of the #nosolopaja section of the festival Humor en Corto, consolidating its presence in the national scene.
To these achievements is added its recent inclusion in the Catalog of Cantabria in Corto 2026, an initiative that aims to promote and disseminate Cantabrian cinema in national and international festivals and markets. The jury described the short film as “a simple but effective bet for comedy through the western proving that
