Students of the degrees of Advertising and Public Relations (PRP), Journalism (PER), Audiovisual Communication (CA), Business Administration (ADE) and Computer Engineering (II) from the Universidad Europea del Atlantico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) participate in the Blended Intensive Program (BIP) at Bernays Algebra University in Zagreb, Croatia.
Students in the communication area had the opportunity to attend programmes entitled “Creativity in Communication and Presentation Skills”, and “Mastering the Art of Public Speaking – Stand Out in Front of and Behind the TV Camera”.
In the creativity program, students developed their creativity through interactive workshops, with the ultimate goal of presenting a project at the end of the week. The students were organized into working groups according to their personality, which favored collaboration and exchange with international Erasmus peers.
On the other hand, in the public speaking program, students developed their communication skills, especially through the elaboration of a final project in which they had to select a topic and present it in English to their peers. In addition, they had the opportunity to visit the RTL television studios in Zagreb, one of the country’s main television networks, which allowed them to know firsthand the functioning of the professional field of communication.
Business Administration and Management students attended the “Creating a project for a client” program, an experience highly focused on developing projects applied to real cases. The activity consisted of designing a Corporate Social Responsibility campaign for a Croatian telecommunications company, aimed at cleaning the beaches of the Dalmatian coast using 5G technology and a water drone. During the program, students worked on target audience identification, analysis of similar campaigns and development of their own proposal, which they finally presented in group.
Finally, the students of Computer Engineering attended the program “Security thinking, algorithms, networks and the mind behind the machine” focused on the development of critical thinking and situation analysis. In preparation, they worked on the film Midway, which allowed them to reflect on strategic decision-making in conflict contexts. Through team dynamics, they worked on communication by sending and deciphering codes, implementing concepts such as encryption and information security.
This program has provided students with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge, allowing contact with foreign students and professionals from different countries, thus enriching their learning in an academic and practical context of international character.
