UNEATLANTICO students of the Audiovisual Communication Degree cover the awards ceremony of the Association of Businesswomen of Cantabria

A team from the Communication Office of the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic) covered the photocall and acted as graphic reporters at the XXIII awards gala of the Association of Businesswomen of Cantabria (Asociación de Mujeres Empresarias de Cantabria, ADMEC). The gala was organized last Thursday at the Hotel Santemar in the presence of more than 300 guests, including both the Rector of UNEATLANTICO, Rubén Calderón, and the Vice-Rector for Academic Planning and Faculty (Ordenación Académica y Profesorado), Silvia Aparicio.

The students of the Audiovisual Communication Degree, Gabriel Alejandro Mingarelli and Joel Santiago Alas, actively participated in the event, where they carried out a professional practice that consisted of taking photographs of the attendees at the gala, as well as taking pictures of the atmosphere and some snapshots of the tables. The work of the two students was impeccable and by the end of the event they had taken dozens of photographs that were delivered to ADMEC, thanks to the agreement between the two institutions.

The award for Best Businesswoman 2023 went to Sylvia de Miguel Puebla, Director of the Move&Go Santander gym, who is part of the family-owned SIEC group, which specializes in construction and has diversified its activities throughout its history to other sectors, such as hotels and sports centers. The company is currently exploring new niches in the agri-food sector.

The Association, under the presidency of Eva Fernández Cobo, awarded special mentions in this edition to Patrito Garnica, of the Solar de Bujadas restaurant; Pilar Navarro, owner of Casa Navarro; Gloria Rueda, founder of the dance studio that bears her name; Ana Lobato, director of Personnel and Legal at Palibex; and the Andare association.

Simultaneously, recognition was given to the women in charge of the Cantabrian institutions: President, María José Sáenz de Buruaga; Government Deputy, Eugenia Gómez de Diego; and her predecessor, Ainoa Quiñones; Head of Parliament, María José González Revuelta; and Mayoress, Gema Igual.
