UNEATLANTICO hosts the presentation of the finalist projects of the eleventh edition of STARTInnova

The auditorium of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) has been the stage where the ten finalist projects of the eleventh edition of STARTInnova, a youth entrepreneurship program promoted by El Diario Montañés with the collaboration of various entities and companies were presented.

The project defense day brought together numerous students, tutors, entrepreneurs and experts in entrepreneurship, with the presence of Elena Botín from El Corte Inglés, Rafael Álvarez from Unicaja Banco, Ana Pedraja from Centro Internacional Santander Emprendimiento (CISE), and Héctor Ruiz from El Diario Montañés, who made up the jury in charge of evaluating the proposals.

The projects covered a wide range of sectors, from technological solutions to social and environmental impact initiatives. Among them were “Sanydron” and “Ges_Tech” from Calasanz School; “Ardora Lux” from IES Cantabria; “Ágora” from Decroly Vocational Training Center; “Duobin Recycler” from CIFP La Granja; “Custodiapp” from IES La Granja; “Mecanizados Sanpepicoz” from CIFP Número Uno; “Hope” and “Divertillo” from Colegio María Auxiliadora (Salesianos); and “Caffe Pet” from IES Valle de Camargo.

Silvia Aparicio, vice-rector of UNEATLANTICO, in her speech, highlighted the importance of these spaces to promote entrepreneurship among young people and the relevance of collaboration between the education and business sectors to promote transformative projects.

The final gala to announce the winners will be held next Wednesday, April 24 in the Argenta Hall of the Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria. The prizes for the winners include significant cash prizes for the educational centers, electronic devices for the students and tutors, and advertising campaigns for the mentoring companies, as well as accreditation diplomas for all the participants.

The participating groups were mentored by the following companies: Grupo Gomur, Solvay, Acorde, Centro Tecnológico CTC, Grupo Calve, Smart Hospital Cantabria Serveo-SIEC, Trefilerías Quijano, Bridgestone, Bathco, Grupo Gof, Global Steel Wire, Ecrimesa, Grupo SIEC, Global Metwire Injection, Standard Cableteam, Candesa and Lostal.
