The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) will hold from 4 to 8 May a new edition of its International Erasmus+ Week (International Staff Week 2026), organized by the Office of International Relations (ORI). The meeting will bring together international academic representatives in a program aimed at strengthening cooperation between institutions and promoting academic and cultural exchange.
Throughout the week, conferences, workshops and networking activities will focus on the current challenges of higher education and the opportunities offered by international academic stays. In this context, the presentation by Thomas Seppelfricke on the opportunities of short stays abroad as a way of academic and professional enrichment stands out.
The program combines academic and professional enrichment with a strong cultural and intercultural dimension. Includes a forum on gastronomy and tourism in Cantabria focused on its potential as an engine of regional development, as well as activities to exchange good practices between universities, cultural visits and spaces of coexistence. In the academic field, a research workshop will be developed with projects and doctoral theses related to internationalization.
The week will end with a professional day dedicated to translation and interpretation, in which experts from the sector will address career paths, interpretation in social contexts and linguistics applied to inclusive education.
The director of ORI, Juan Luis Vidal, has emphasized that this initiative “allows to generate lasting international synergies and project UNEATLANTICO as an open university connected with the world”.
With this edition, the International Week 2026 consolidates the role of UNEATLANTICO in the European higher education space.
