The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) and the Cantabria Pickleball Association have signed an agreement to collaborate in the promotion and encouragement of pickleball among the students at the university. The signing of the agreement took place in the boardroom of UNEATLANTICO, in the presence of the rector of the University, Rubén Calderón; the head of the International Service of Agreements and Sports Agreements (Servicio Internacional de Convenios y Acuerdos Deportivos, SICAD), Josep Alemany; and the president of the Association, Pedro Gutiérrez Gómez.
For his part, Pedro Gutiérrez Gómez, emphasized that “for the Cantabrian Pickleball Association, it is a very important step to have signed this agreement because we will be able to introduce our sport discipline in the university world, both for leisure and education.”
The signing of this agreement between the two institutions aims to enable collaboration in academic, cultural, and sports matters between the two institutions.
In this line, it should be noted that the cooperation between the Cantabrian Pickleball Association and the Universidad Europea del Atlántico aims to promote the sport in Cantabria through its training, ensuring the transmission of values through sports.
The formalization of this cooperation will allow for follow-up of curricular and extracurricular activities, and at the same time, joint efforts will be made to offer new competitive and formative activities through pickleball at UNEATLANTICO.
UNEATLANTICO, in its vocation to promote sports throughout the region, has established agreements with agents of reference such as the Royal Racing Club of Santander, the Royal Cantabrian Football Federationof Basketball, Swimming, Rugby, Chess, Badminton, or the Bathco Balonmano Torrelavega, to mention a few.
