The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) has received in its facilities the under-18 team of Rugby Cormorant after being proclaimed champion of the Cup Astur-Cantabra, an achievement that recognizes the great work done by the ensemble throughout the season.

The expedition was received by the rector of UNEATLANTICO, Rubén Calderón, and by the secretary general of the university, Jesús Peña, who congratulated the players and the technical staff for the title achieved and valued the effort. the commitment and sporting values that rugby conveys.

During the meeting, representatives of the university highlighted the importance of combining academic training with sports practice, as well as the role that clubs like Rugby Cormorant play in promoting grassroots sport and training young people.

Also, the visit served to reinforce the close relationship that UNEATLANTICO maintains with Cantabrian rugby and with different sporting entities in the region. In this sense, the university signed in 2023 an agreement of academic and sports collaboration with the Cantabrian Rugby Federation, with the aim of promoting the development of rugby and promoting joint initiatives in the educational and sporting field. In addition, the university has collaborated in recent years with different clubs and entities related to this sport.

The meeting concluded with a visit to the university facilities and a group photograph to commemorate the recent success of the U-18 team of Rugby Cormorant in the Astur-Cantabra Cup.
