The seventh edition of the Pre-University Debate League LATAM of the Universidad Europea del Atlantico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) has come to an end after an electrifying final that crowned the team “Delfines Crismar”, representing Mexico, as the new champions of the competition.
The team of Crismar College, which represented Mexico in this edition, faced in the final the delegation from Honduras, represented by the team of Macris School. After having passed a very demanding semi-final stage, against Nicaragua and Costa Rica respectively, both teams had a reunion after having debated in the first phase of the LATAM League.
In a final marked by academic rigor and mental agility, the “Crismar Dolphins” managed to emerge victorious in a very tight final. This triumph marks an unprecedented milestone, since it is the first time in the history of the competition that a Mexican institution manages to win the title of champion, highlighting the exceptional talent and technical preparation of the students of the Crismar College.
For their part, the team of Macris School (Honduras) demonstrated great skill, obtaining a meritorious subchampionship after a debate that was decided by minimal margins, reaffirming the high level of Honduran oratory in the region.
The jury table for this Grand Final included figures of great professional relevance at national and international level. Among the evaluators were the Dominican journalist Dániel Lajara, whose young and critical vision added depth to the communicative analysis; Ángel Domingo, communication director of the Spanish League for University Debate (LEDU), who also provided technical training to participants during the IX course of public speaking at UNEATLANTICO; and Mónica Gracia, director of international admissions at UNEATLANTICO.
The director of the UNEATLANTICO Debate League, Luis Eduardo Prado, expressed his enthusiasm at the end of this edition: «It is a great satisfaction to successfully complete another edition, especially seeing the exponential growth of the teams. The level shown by the delegations of Mexico and Honduras in this final is a reflection of effort and passion for the word. We congratulate the champions and all the teams that have participated in this VII edition.
With this result, the VII Debate League LATAM closes this edition by consolidating itself as one of the references in oratory and pre-university debate on the continent.
