The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) has held a new edition of its career guidance day aimed at students of the Degree in Psychology and the Master’s in General Health Psychology, by the Official College of Psychology of Cantabria (COPCA).
On this occasion, the meeting was attended by the Governing Board of the Official College of Psychology of Cantabria, headed by its dean, Nelly Cabrera, and by vocalists Ramón Soto, David Sánchez de la Blanca, Juan José Martínez and Ana Amelia Sánchez.
This annual visit aims to bring the student of Psychology closer to the functioning of the collegiate institution, as well as to make known their work in the defense and protection of the profession, the advantages of collegiality and the ethical and deontological framework that regulates the professional practice of Psychology.
Unlike traditional lectures, the day was developed dynamically, which facilitated a direct and close exchange with the students. Each representative of the College presented the particularities of their field of specialization, offering a global view of current professional paths in areas such as health psychology, research and organizational psychology, educational psychology and sports psychology.
The realization of this activity on these dates responds to the intention of accompanying second-year students in a particularly relevant stage of their formation, in which they must choose their specialization itinerary among the areas of health, education, organizations and sport.
During the day, the current collaboration agreement between UNEATLANTICO and the Official College of Psychology of Cantabria was also highlighted, which promotes joint actions aimed at facilitating the transition of students into the labor market.
The event concluded with high student participation, which raised questions focused on the future of the broad branches of psychology as well as the different options for specialization within the discipline.
