The auditorium of UNEATLANTICO hosts the live program “Más de Uno Cantabria” by Onda Cero

Onda Cero broadcasts a live program from the auditorium of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO). Silvia Aparicio, Vice Rector of Academic Planning and Faculty of the University; Josep Alemany, director of the Physical Activity and Sports Service (SAFD) of UNEATLANTICO; Vanessa Yélamos, professor of Psychology (PSI) of UNEATLANTICO; and students of the university who were in the audience of the program intervened in the program.

The program began at 12:20, introducing the University. First, Josep Alemany spoke about the Spanish University Surfing and Badminton Championships organized by UNEATLANTICO. It should be noted that this is the first time in history that the Spanish University Surfing Championship has been organized. On the other hand, the Spanish University Championship, held at the Palacio de Deportes, stood out for the presence of more than one hundred university athletes from all over Spain.

During his speech, a series of questions were asked to the students who were present in the audience. For their part, students Isabela Giraldo, a first year student in Advertising and Public Relations (PRP), and Thaís Campón, a fourth year student of the double degree in Journalism (PER) and Advertising and Public Relations, were invited to speak on the program to talk a little about their experience at the university so far and the subjects they have studied. In this sense, Giraldo shared her expectations of the degree she is studying, while Campón highlighted her experience during the last four years in which she has already made an Erasmus mobilization to the Netherlands and will soon carry out another one to Italy.

This was followed by Vanessa Yélamos, a lecturer at the University. Yélamos spoke about the “II Conference for the Prevention of bullying and cyber-bullying” held on April 25. The main topic discussed with the audience in the auditorium was the appropriate age for adolescents to receive their first cell phone. He also highlighted the ways in which a parent or legal guardian can ensure that their child is not in a dangerous situation on the Internet and the prevention of cyberbullying.

Finally, the Vice-Rector for Academic Planning and Faculty, Silvia Aparicio, spoke about artificial intelligence and the pros and cons of it in education. She referred to the ways in which it can help teachers themselves and their evaluations by saving them time.

The program was an extremely enriching activity for the University’s communication degree students who were able to experience, from the university, the workings of a live radio broadcast.
