Juan Luis Martín, academic director of the Degree in Psychology (PSI) and Sara Morales, coordinator of the Degree in Psychology (PSI) and the Master’s Degree in General Health Psychology at the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), attended the presentation of the XV National Conference on Gender Violence organised by the Official College of Psychology of Cantabria (COP Cantabria).
The conference was held with the aim of visualising violence against women throughout different stages and establishing the most effective actions to improve knowledge, prevention and intervention. The conference was held over three days and included a wide range of lectures, presentations, workshops and round tables. Throughout the conference, topics such as the psychological approach to minors who are victims of child sexual abuse or gender violence in the perinatal stage were addressed.
It should be noted that this event, organised by the Official College of Psychology of Cantabria, was attended by a wide variety of professionals from all over Spain, specialising in different areas, further enriching the conference.
In the same vein, it is worth mentioning that Isabel Diego, lecturer in the Psychology degree at UNEATLANTICO was part of the organising committee of this event. In addition, she also acted as moderator in a round table whose theme was ‘gender violence in the first affective-sexual relationships of adolescence’ which was attended by about a dozen students of UNEATLANTICO.
The participation of Juan Luis Martín, Sara Morales, Isabel Diego, as well as the attendance of students from the European University of the Atlantic, is part of the actions that the university community carries out to promote values that respond to the needs and challenges of today’s society, thus creating a more egalitarian environment throughout the campus.
