The rector magnificent of the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), Rubén Calderón, visits the embassy of Colombia in Spain and meets with the minister plenipotentiary, Ms. Maria Andrea Torres Moreno.
The meeting was held for the purpose of extending a kind invitation to His Excellency Ambassador of Colombia to the Kingdom of Spain D. Eduardo Ávila Navarrete to visit our university in Cantabria as part of the “business meetings” that the university has been holding with different embassies, with which UNEATLÁNTICO and the Fundación Universitaria Iberoamericana (FUNIBER) maintain a close relationship, especially in the context of Fundación Innovación y Desarrollo (FIDBAN).
The University envisages an academic and educational project focused on the employment of students. In addition, it has a project subject and another of business creation and entrepreneurship, both in the fourth year, in all degree curricula. All this favors the employability of students in an internationalized context.
The meetings promoted by FIDBAN, under whose patronage are UNEATLANTICO, FUNIBER and the Society for the Development of Cantabria (SODERCAN), consist of a reception of the Ambassador and his delegation by the authorities of the University with a visit to the facilities, to the residence, the formalization of a Framework Agreement and the meeting with the Cantabrian business sector.
In addition, a meeting is promoted with national students from the host country who share their experiences at the university and their life in Santander.
SODERCAN organizes jointly with the university a meeting between the Embassy and Cantabrian companies to learn about business opportunities that Cantabrian companies from different sectors can find in that country, as well as opportunities that exist in Cantabria for investments by companies from the invited country. Afterwards there is a café networking between the Ambassador and businessmen.
