The European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) extends for the first time the invitation to the on-site graduation ceremony to UNEATLANTICO’s distance learning postgraduate students. The graduates traveled from several countries to attend the graduation ceremony, making it the most international event in the history of the university.
Students with scholarships from the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER), from Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Portugal and the Dominican Republic, as well as from other Autonomous Communities of Spain, traveled to the UNEATLANTICO campus with family and friends to enjoy the ceremony.
The graduation was inaugurated by Sandra Sumalla, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, who dedicated a few words to the students and stressed that “Remember that graduation is not the end of learning, it is only the end of the first stage of the road, continuous training is essential in all professions, so never stop training”.
The ceremony was also attended by the Angolan Ambassador, Alfredo Dombe, who was the sponsor of the graduates. In his speech, the rector of UNEATLANTICO, Rubén Calderón, highlighted the internationalization presented in the hall, stressing that “this international component is somehow a mark of the university”. He also encouraged graduates to live as many international experiences as possible. Similarly, he stressed that in addition to living these experiences, in UNEATLANTICO “what we try is that, beyond the lands that you walk, is to bring the lands to the classroom”.
On the other hand, the Angolan Ambassador, Alfredo Dombé, also dedicated a few words to the graduates: “Each diploma that will be delivered today is a testimony to your resilience and your determination”.
It should be noted that UNEATLANTICO offers a wide range of postgraduate distance learning programs in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Faculty of Health Sciences, as well as in the Higher Polytechnic School.
