The MLS Health and Nutrition Research journal, sponsored by the European University of the Atlantic, launches its first issue. It is a biannual publication that aims to publish original research and review articles in both basic and applied and methodological areas that represent a scientific contribution to the progress of any field of health and nutrition as its main objective.
In addition, the editorial team includes Iñaki Elío, Doctor in Health Projects and academic director of the degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics at UNEATLANTICO, as editor-in-chief. “From the Editorial Committee of the journal MLS Health and Nutritional Research we want to emphasise that the launch of the first issue has been a great challenge to offer authors a space in which their manuscripts are peer-reviewed and for readers an instrument for the transfer of scientific knowledge in the field of health, nutrition and food,” he said.
On the other hand, the editor-in-chief would like to thank the collaboration and work of the director of MLS Journals, Antonio Pantoja, Sara Suárez in the Secretariat, the associate editors Diego Gómez, Nelly Orozco, Anna Vila, Priscilla Almeida, Tara Rendo and Sandra Sumalla, all the reviewers who have collaborated in the different articles and the Fundación Universitaria Iberoamericana (FUNIBER) and the different sponsoring Universities for their material and human support.
Thus, this first issue is composed of a total of six articles dealing with different topics such as: “New dietary-nutritional treatments in type 2 diabetes mellitus: a narrative review”, “Dual effect of branched-chain amino acids and their relationship with insulin resistance” or “Medical Nutritional Treatment in patients with COVID-19”.
In this sense, from the European University of the Atlantic, we encourage all those interested in the area of health and nutrition to read the journal. All articles are open access and are available at este enlace.
