Some thirty students from European and Latin American countries, as well as from other autonomous communities in Spain, have successfully completed the classroom phase of the Master’s Degree in Sports Performance: Training and Functional Assessment from the European University of the Atlantic.
This master’s degree, which has an official university qualification, is taught in a blended learning format, and offers the highest level of education in one of the main areas of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences: Sports Performance.
The classroom sessions, taught by some of the top professionals such as; Julio Calleja González, Nicolás Terrados Cepeda, Esther Morencos Martínez, Pedro Jiménez Reyes, and Manuel Lapuente Sagarra, were held during July at the University Campus, where students were able to make use of the different classrooms, sports facilities, gymnasium, and Biomechanics and Physiology laboratory.
After completing the classroom phase, the students received their diplomas in a ceremony held in the University’s Assembly Hall, where Dr. Álvaro Velarde, academic director of the master’s degree, and Dr. Carlos Lago, coordinator of the programme and academic director of the degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, were present.
During the award ceremony, Dr. Álvaro Velarde thanked each of the speakers for their involvement and work in each of the presentations as well as their contribution toward new knowledge and experiences in the field of sports performance, training, and functional assessment. He also thanked the work and dedication of the University teachers who have been part of this master’s degree.
“I would like to acknowledge the valuable effort of all the students for attending this face-to-face phase. People from different countries who have brought a lot of value and experience to the master’s degree,” said the academic director.
For his part, Dr. Carlos Lago, highlighted the commitment of the students in the area of sports performance and in this face-to-face phase “in which 18 speakers from 12 universities and from different sports modalities have participated”. “You are here to be better and I hope you have achieved this and made the most of it. This will always be your home”, concluded Dr. Lago.
