The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) inaugurates its second Erasmus+ International Staff Week 2025, an event that has become one of the key activities in the institutional calendar in the field of academic internationalisation. Organised by the International Relations Office (ORI), this event will take place from 5 to 9 May on the Santander campus.
Under the direction of Juan Luis Vidal and coordinated by Leticia Díaz and Laura Martín, International Week 2025 brings together academic representatives and teaching staff from nine European countries: Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Poland, Lithuania, Romania and Turkey. For five days, activities will focus on teaching, research, institutional cooperation and cultural exchange.
The week has started with a welcome session, an institutional presentation of UNEATLANTICO and a guided tour of the University facilities. The programme also includes presentations of international projects, research workshops, sessions on best practices in internationalisation, networking meetings and cultural events.
One of the highlights is the interactive research workshop with students on theses on physical activity, as well as the presentation of FUNIBER’s cultural initiatives. In addition, attendees will be able to participate in the solidarity event ‘Meals of the World’, the proceeds of which will go to a local NGO and the Spanish University Surfing Championship 2025, organised by UNEATLANTICO in Somo.
This week’s celebration highlights UNEATLANTICO’s strong commitment to international openness, intercultural dialogue and academic mobility. The interaction between visiting and local professors not only enriches the academic contents, but also opens new ways of collaboration in teaching and research projects.
The ORI stresses that this activity ‘is an exceptional opportunity to create lasting synergies between institutions from different countries and to project the image of UNEATLANTICO as a dynamic, open and connected centre with the world’.
The International Week 2025 continues throughout the week with an intense and participative programme, reinforcing the role of UNEATLANTICO as a key player in the European Higher Education Area.
