UNEATLANTICO Audiovisual Communication Students Participate in a BIP in Vilnius

Third- and fourth-year Audiovisual Communication (CA) students from the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) participated in a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) at SMK College of Applied Sciences in Lithuania.

The program, titled VideoTrain Workshop: Intercultural Vilnius – Intermedia Video, combined creativity, collaboration, and international exchange, offering participants the opportunity to explore Vilnius from a cultural perspective. The students attended lectures, visited the LRT studio, and worked on filming and editing projects centered on the theme “Intercultural Vilnius.”

The students worked in multicultural teams while gaining practical experience in audiovisual production by creating their own videos. Throughout the week, they honed key practical skills such as shooting a short film, sound design, editing, and creative storytelling, while also improving their intercultural competencies.

The experience was further enriched by attending the “VideoTrain” International Student Short Film Festival, which provided inspiration, new perspectives, and opportunities for creative exchange.

Gisella Torres, a third-year student in Audiovisual Communication (CA), said that the BIP “is an opportunity to change your perspective, open your mind, and open yourself up to more opportunities.”

She also offered a recommendation to all students still considering whether or not to do a BIP: “I recommend that you take the plunge and do it. It’s an opportunity, and it also lets you decide if you want to do a longer Erasmus exchange.”

The student notes that “at SMK, everything is very different from what we’re used to in class: the atmosphere and the college model are different. Moreover, there are not only students from Lithuania, but from all over the world. Just like at UNEATLÁNTICO, it’s a very international environment, and I think that’s the most valuable part: being able to adapt and connect with people who are also away from their home country, who face similar challenges, and who, moreover, open you up to new perspectives.”

This initiative reflects the strong collaboration between UNEATLANTICO and the European University Alliance DIVERSE. By bringing together students from different countries and disciplines, the program created a valuable space for learning, creativity, and international connection.
