The producer Pedro del Río visited the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO).to present the tenth edition of the Short Film Festival ‘Rueda con Rueda’. During his speech, he gave an informative talk aimed at students of Audiovisual Communication (CA), Journalism (PER) and Advertising and Public Relations (PRP), in which he explained all the details about this initiative that seeks to promote young talent in the world of cinema.
Del Río explained the rules of the competition, the instructions for participation and some practical advice for those interested in submitting their own short film. The festival, promoted by the Rueda Designation of Origin and organised by the production company Plan Secreto S.L., has established itself as a platform of visibility for new creators, and in this tenth edition it is extending its scope with new prizes and awards.
Participants will be eligible for three main prizes: Best Short Film ‘Rueda con Rueda’, Best Short Film shot in the Rueda D.O. and Best Short Film directed by film and audiovisual students. In addition, the festival will award several special mentions, including Best Male and Female Acting, Best Cinematography, Best LGTBI-themed Short Film, and a Special Youth Mention for the best short film submitted.
As for the requirements of the festival, which has a deadline for entries on 2 October, it should be noted that all short films submitted for the competition must include at least one bottle of wine from the Rueda Designation of Origin in the short film. The short films will have a minimum duration of one minute and a maximum of ten minutes (credits and bumpers included), and must be subtitled in English, and also in Spanish if the language of the short film is another language. Fiction, documentary or animation short films of a minimum of 1 minute and a maximum of 10 minutes can participate.
As a novelty, for this tenth edition of the festival, the organisation is presenting a new category called ‘WineSip’ , which are audiovisual pieces, in vertical format, between 15 and 60 seconds long.
