The Rector of the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), Rubén Calderón, has received a visit from Tomás Dasgoas Rodríguez, president of the Cámara Oficial de Comercio, Industria, Servicios y Navegación de Cantabria (Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services, and Navigation of Cantabria) and vice-president of CEOE-CEPYME Cantabria, with a view to strengthening academic and business collaboration.
During the meeting, Calderón and Dasgoas discussed the need to deepen the relationship between UNEATLANTICO and the Chamber of Commerce, exploring possibilities of collaboration through agreements. It was agreed to hold discussions at the technical level to identify areas of complementarity and work together to improve student employability.
The meeting highlighted the importance of the joint activities already being carried out by both institutions, such as the participation of the Rector and the Vice Rector of UNEATLANTICO in a conference on global economy at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce of Cantabria, as well as the attendance of UNEATLANTICO students to workshops organized by the Chamber of Commerce.
It was also emphasized that the collaboration between UNEATLANTICO and the Chamber of Commerce is fundamental for the social and economic growth of the region. The university contributes through programs such as the degree in Business Administration and Management (ADE), the degree in Industrial Organization Engineering (IOI), or the Cátedra de Cultura Emprendedora y Empleabilidad (Chair of Entrepreneurial Culture and Employability), training future professionals. For its part, the Chamber of Commerce supports various aspects and provides support to those who will be the future entrepreneurs of Cantabria, facilitating their access to the sector.
The visit strengthened the basis for collaboration between UNEATLANTICO and the Chamber of Commerce, ensuring that the students’ training transcends the classroom and is integrated in a coherent manner with the reality of the business environment.
