The first-year student of the degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), Andrea Montes Oñate, has achieved an outstanding result in the Spanish Dragon Boat Championship, held on 20 and 21 September in Galicia, by winning two gold and one silver medals in different modalities.
Andrea won the gold medal in the category Open Senior DB 20 and DB 22, consolidating her position among the best athletes of the country, and also achieved a silver medal in the women’s category.
The dragon boat, which has been gaining popularity in recent years, is a canoeing modality of Chinese origin where timing, endurance and teamwork are crucial. Andrea has managed to combine the practice of this sport with his university studies at UNEATLANTICO.
The university through the degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences (CAFYD) and its Physical Activity and Sports Service (SAFD) drives sport both within the campus with training groups and educational activities, as well as outside of it.
The UNEATLANTICO community has shown its pride in the student’s achievements and has highlighted its efforts to combine this sport with her academic development.
