The European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) will organise, on 9 September at 17:00 hours (Spain), the webinar ‘Strategic Alliance between the United States and South Korea: past, present and future’, which will be given by Melany Villatoro.
The event is held in collaboration with the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana de Puerto Rico (UNIB), the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana de México (UNINI México), the Fundación Universitaria Internacional de Colombia (UNINCOL), the Universidade Internacional do Cuanza (UNIC) and the Universidad de La Romana (UNIROMANA).
The South Korea-US alliance is a fundamental pillar of security and prosperity in Asia. Since the Korean War, this partnership has evolved significantly, adapting to the changing geopolitical environment. This webinar will provide a comprehensive overview of this partnership, exploring the historical origins of the relationship, its consolidation as a strategic alliance, and its role in addressing regional challenges such as the North Korean nuclear threat. In addition, the future prospects of this alliance in an increasingly interconnected and competitive world will be analysed.
Melany Villatoro holds a degree in International Relations. She teaches Political Science and Humanities and Communication at universities in Guatemala, Colombia, Spain and Mexico.
The conference is free and open to all those interested in the subject, and will be broadcast live on FUNIBER’s YouTube channel.
