UNEATLANTICO organises a degree award ceremony in Panama

The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) in collaboration with the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER), based in Panama, organised a degree award ceremony for students awarded scholarships through the FUNIBER Scholarship Programme who have successfully completed their online postgraduate studies in institutions of its university network: the International Ibero-American University of Mexico (UNINI Mexico), and the International Ibero-American University of Puerto Rico, USA (UNIB).

The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Roberto Ruíz, Vice Rector for International Relations and Secretary General of UNEATLANTICO, in the framework of his working tour in Central America. The Consul of Spain in Panama, Dr. Mario Crespo, also participated, as well as the cultural attaché of the Embassy of the United Mexican States in Panama, Mr. Mario Jesús Beltrán Mainero, head of Cultural Affairs and International Cooperation and second secretary of that embassy. As host and representative of the Universidad Latina, the dean of the Faculty of Business, Dr. Olmedo Estrada, who is also the liaison unit between the university and FUNIBER in Panama, was at the presidium.

The opening remarks were given by Dr. Gregorio Urriola Candanedo, director of FUNIBER’s headquarters in that country, who was pleased that the scholarships awarded for the benefit of the education of many professionals, culminated in this ceremony in areas that promote knowledge and development of Panama and the region.

For his part, Vice Rector Roberto Ruíz of UNEATLANTICO extended his congratulations to the graduates, highlighting their efforts and those of their families and friends, and invited them to continue their professional development in the changing world. Messages were also transmitted digitally from the rector of UNEATLANTICO, Dr. Rubén Calderón and the rector of UNINI Mexico, Dr. Luis Dzul. Marjorie Franco, representing the staff of the headquarters, reiterated the willingness to continue supporting the graduates in future professional development efforts.

To close the event organized by the Panamanian headquarters of FUNIBER, by Ms. Sindy Martinez as administrative director, a toast of honour was made to the graduates and their families, and shared in a pleasant conviviality with photo sessions to remember this great moment. The event was held in the main auditorium of the Universidad Latina de Panamá, an institution that is part of the FUNIBER network in the country.

In this way, UNEATLANTICO reaffirms its commitment to education and the development of highly trained professionals in Panama and the region. Through its network of partner universities, UNEATLANTICO continues to be a benchmark in the promotion of quality education accessible to all.
