UNEATLANTICO commemorates the 8M through various campus activities

The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) commemorates the International Women’s Day with activities organized by Student Delegation and the Theater Classroom.

To commemorate this date, the students María Victoria, graduate student and delegate of the university, and Adriana Díez, delegate of the degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences (CAFYD), organized an activity entitled “Anonymous Stories”. The initiative invites anyone – alone or accompanied – to sit in the lounge chairs on campus and share stories about women they admire, some personal anecdote related to this day, a reflection or any thoughts they wish to express.

The activity was attended by several female students, who encouraged the university community to get involved and share their experiences. The aim of this initiative is to give visibility to women and the meaning of this date, as well as motivate students to reflect and participate actively. Also, the organizers sought to highlight the importance and value that this commemoration represents.

Also, from the Theater Classroom was organized an improvisation activity in which Paula Rasillo, a student of Audiovisual Communication (CA); Ivana Navas, a student of Translation and Language Teaching (TEL); and Elena Fernández, of Psychology (PSI), they played great female figures of history such as Cleopatra, Hypatia of Alexandria and Concepcion Arenal, in homage to the achievements each achieved in their respective fields.

It is important to note that the Equality Commission of the European University of the Atlantic has the objective and responsibility to implement and promote policies that guarantee equal treatment and opportunities between women and men. as well as promoting actions aimed at achieving real equality within the university community.

In this sense, the university continues to develop each year various activities that contribute to this mission, encouraging reflection, participation and commitment of the university community with equality.
