The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) and Martimba have formalized a collaboration agreement for the promotion of padel in the region. The signing took place on Wednesday in the campus boardroom, with the presence of the rector of the University, Ruben Calderón; the head of the Servicio Internacional de Convenios y Acuerdos Deportivos (International Service of Sports Agreements and Covenants, SICAD), Josep Alemany; and David González, founding partner of Martimba.
The agreement covers various areas of collaboration, including the organization of three padel tournaments at the UNEATLANTICO facilities, with the expected participation of 32 men’s pairs, 16 women’s pairs, and 16 mixed pairs.
With a reduced registration fee, students will receive a welcome pack, which includes a bag, a t-shirt, an overgrip, and a discount card for the Martimba online store. Likewise, players will play a minimum of three matches and may play up to seven depending on their results in the tournament.
In the same way, the winners of each modality will receive a prize at the end of the competition. In parallel, a scoring system will be established to select the players who will represent UNEATLANTICO in the Campeonato de España Universitario de Pádel (Spanish University Padel Championship).
The agreement also contemplates the organization of an exhibition match with professional players at the UNEATLANTICO’s facilities.
