The National Council for Standardization and Certification of Labor Skills in Mexico visits UNEATLANTICO, a university belonging to the FUNIBER group

A delegation from the National Council for Standardization and Certification of Occupational Skills (CONOCER), headed by the Mtra. María Guillermina Alvarado Moreno, visits the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), part of the FUNIBER group and sister to the International Ibero-American University (UNINI).

This is the body of the Mexican State, sectorized in the Public Education Secretariat, responsible for promoting, coordinating and consolidating the National System of Competencies, whose central function is to define, develop and administer the Standards of Competence, as well as promoting evaluation and certification processes for formal recognition of skills.

CONHECER operates as a strategic public policy instrument, linking education, training, productivity, employability and competitiveness, both nationally and internationally.

The Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) is an academic and international cooperation platform with presence in many countries of Europe, Latin America and Africa, and a consolidated network of partner universities. This link is strategic as it allows the alignment of Mexican competence standards with international academic models, facilitates the internationalization of the certification of competences, It opens spaces for the mutual recognition of vocational skills and promotes joint projects in continuing education, vocational training and knowledge transfer.

UNEATLANTICO, as part of the FUNIBER Network, is a key partner in the internationalization processes of CONOCER. Therefore, the institutional visit by the council to the university has had the objective of strengthening the institutional cooperation between CONOCER, FUNIBER, UNINI and UNEATLANTICO, Identify opportunities for certification, training and recognition of competences in international environments and lay the groundwork for dual competence-based academic validation pilot projects.

Finally, it should be noted that the visit of the CONOCER delegation to UNEATLANTICO is not the first occasion on which the Council, FUNIBER and the universities forming part of its network are in contact. Last August, UNINI Mexico was the scene of the signing of the Letter of Intent to consolidate a strategic alliance with the installation of the Competence Management Committee
