The Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), through its Cultural Work, launches the third edition of the international photography PHotoFUNIBER´21 contest the aim of disseminating art and knowledge.
This contest is organized in collaboration with the European University of the Atlantic, International Iberoamerican University of Mexico (UNINI Mexico), the International University Foundation of Colombia (UNINCOL) and the International Iberoamerican University of Puerto Rico (UNINI Puerto Rico).
As for the participation requirements, interested individuals must be of legal age and reside in one of the countries in which FUNIBER has offices. In addition, contestants must submit a single image, in original format, and that has not been awarded in other contests or have been commercially exploited. In this sense, the PHotoFUNIBER’21 contest will reward those photographs that have been evaluated best by the jury and by popular vote. There are a total of four categories in which to compete:
- Nature
- Heritage
- Photojournalism
- Abstract
Works may be submitted with complete technical and artistic freedom except in the categories “Nature” and “Photojournalism” where digitally altered photographs will not be accepted. In this regard, all contest rules and regulations can be consulted at this link.
The registration and image submission deadlines through the contest website will last until March 2, at 23:59 PM (Spain time).
After an initial pre-selection of 20 images, an Honorary Jury will evaluate the photographs and select the winners. The 20 photograph finalists will also be available on the contest website, where a popular vote will be held through Facebook likes.
The winners will be announced on May 4. The winner of each category, as chosen by the jury, will receive a prize of 400€ and an 80% scholarship to study one of the postgraduate programs sponsored by FUNIBER. The photograph with the most public votes will also receive a prize of 300€ and a 50% scholarship to study a postgraduate program sponsored by the foundation.
Lastly, special awards will also be given to students and alumni of UNEATLANTICO, as well as to postgraduate students with scholarships from FUNIBER, who have completed their studies or are currently studying.
