Teachers of UNEATLANTICO hold a meeting with representatives of the Costa Quebrada Geopark to explore possible collaborations

Lucía Dirube, coordinator of the Costa Quebrada Geopark, and Ángel Trujillano, president of the association, have made a visit to the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) with the aim of making an initial contact and being able to explore possible collaborations and agreements. On the part of the university, teachers Sandra Sumalla, Emilio Casuso and Laura Saiz participated.

Dirube and Trujillano presented the Costa Quebrada geopark, explaining what it is, how it emerged, which municipalities make up it.They also highlighted that this year UNESCO has officially recognized it as a and made known the different plans they have to be able to advance and make themselves better known, as well as activities they want to develop now that they are officially a geopark.

In the same vein, it should be noted that they have shown a great interest in collaborating with the university through the four degrees of food: degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics (NHD), degree in Gastronomy (GASTRO), degree in Food Science and Technology (CTA) degree in Engineering of the Agricultural and Food Industries (IIAA). There was also talk of possible collaborations with other grades and a signature of collaboration agreement.

About the Costa Quebrada Geopark

The Costa Quebrada Geopark covers a total of eight municipalities: Santander, Santa Cruz de Bezana, Piélagos, Miengo, Suances, Santillana del Mar, Polanco and Camargo. Currently the geopark offers short tours and guided geological routes through the unique set of coastal forms that form the park.
