Students of the degree in CAFYD of UNEATLANTICO make a hiking route through the Picota

The students of the degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CAFYD) of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) made a hiking route through the Picota under the subject «Activities in the natural environment», accompanied by UNEATLANTICO professors Florent Osmani and Jose Miguel San Roman.

The aim was to bring students closer to the reality of the sector, allowing them to participate in a practical experience through a circular route, during which they received various explanations, Signposts and guidance on the compulsory equipment to be carried during these activities.

Throughout the course, in addition to enjoying the landscape and direct contact with the environment, students worked key skills such as group management in natural environments, team decision making, guidance on the ground and the resolution of contingencies. This experience outside the classroom allowed them to apply theoretical knowledge in a real context, improving learning.

Finally, it should be stressed that this type of initiative is part of the commitment of UNEATLANTICO and its teaching staff to offer practical training which is dynamic and linked to the demands of today’s professional world.
