Puerto Rico hosts an exhibition of Picasso organized by the Cultural Work of the European Atlantic University and FUNIBER

The European Atlantic University (UNEATLANTICO) and the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), in collaboration with the International Ibero-American University (UNIB) and the Department of Art, Culture and History of Arecibo and the organization Arte 360, inaugurated last November 8 the exhibition «Still surprise», a prominent sample of the famous artist Pablo Picasso in the Museum Casa Trina Padilla de Sanz, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico.

The public can visit the exhibition, free of charge, until Saturday, November 22, 2025, from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 16:00 and on Saturdays until 17:00.

The opening ceremony was attended by prominent academic authorities, including Dr. Carol Morales, President of UNIB. Yisel Belén also participated in the opening, representing the mayor of Arecibo, Carlos Ramírez. Also present was Rosa Aymat, director of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Development of the Municipality of Arecibo, along with her team, who contributed significantly to the success of the inaugural day, in collaboration with the organization Arte 360.

During the opening, the public enjoyed artistic presentations by Mr. Rafael Augusto, who delighted the attendees with beautiful guitar compositions. Later, the group Cuatro D’ Luna enriched the atmosphere with traditional songs and melodies full of feeling.

The exhibition «Picasso: I still surprise» consists of three complete collections. The first one, «Les Bleus de Barcelona», consists of 11 works that reflect the artist’s early periods in Barcelona. The second collection, «Dancers», includes 14 engravings on leather that capture dancers in a single stroke, demonstrating Picasso’s technical and aesthetic mastery. Finally, «Geneviève» includes 12 works on Japan paper, made in the 1950s and published in 1974, which depict Geneviève, Picasso’s young lover, in a series of spontaneous and decorative drawings, revealing a more personal and less well-known aspect of the artist.
