Meet the representatives of the countries participating in the V Panamerican Pre-University Debate League of UNEATLANTICO

The Pan-American Pre-University Debate League, organized for the fifth time by the Universidad Europa del Atlántico (UNEATLANTICO), faces this week its final stretch. Once the different national competitions, which will determine which team will represent each country, are over, the debates between nations will begin.

The National Leagues kicked off in Latin America with the presence of 450 students from fifteen countries. A total of 72 teams, who first completed a Debate Fundamentals Training Course, and defended pro and con positions on whether “Does the use of artificial intelligence in academia, as a tool, benefit student development?”

Thus, the winners are already known and have the opportunity to represent their respective countries in the V edition of the League. From North America and the Caribbean, the British School in Mexico, while the Mindful Community School (MCS) was the winner in the Dominican Republic.

Central America will be represented by Colegio Internacional de San Salvador, Colegio Centroamérica from Nicaragua, the Heronniums team from Honduras, Colegio Hispanocostarricense from Costa Rica, the La Preparatoria team from Guatemala and Oxford School Chiriquí from Panama.

South America will also have the participation of Colegio Carmelitas from Peru, La Colina from Colombia, as well as the U.E.P Nuestra Señora del Camino team from Venezuela, Colegio CDI from Paraguay, ADA CPV from Chile and Colegio Bilingüe Domingo Savio from Bolivia.

In this international round, which will continue from a telematic format, the debate will revolve around the following premise: “Is the use of social networks useful as a source of truthful information?”

The V Pan American Pre-University Debate League is offering prizes for the winning team, the runner-up and the best speaker of this competition. These awards range from UNEATLANTICO promotional packs to gift checks and full funding of the cost of reserving a place to study a degree at the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (360 euros).
