The European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) has organized a new session of the employment conference “What now?” with the participation of the Cantabrian doctor and entrepreneur Julio Alonso. In this conference, Julio shares his experience as an immigrant and his professional career in medicine and entrepreneurship.
Julio Alonso, who studied medicine in Santander and completed a specialty in internal medicine in Madrid, moved to Australia after finishing his studies due to job opportunities. During his time in Australia, he continued to work as a physician and also explored his passion for entrepreneurship. In his talk, Alonso shares his experience with immigration, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Alonso, despite the limitations brought about by the pandemic, tells how he used that as an inspiration for entrepreneurship in the medical field, creating the idea of a device that would help doctors suffer less risk of contagion when treating covid-19 patients.
Finally, Alonso stresses the importance of innovation in all careers, as through his medical career, he has managed to implement innovations from an entrepreneurial point of view, which has been beneficial to the healthcare sector. Her experience demonstrates how innovation opportunities can be found in different fields, and how the entrepreneurial approach can generate a positive impact on society.
The “What now?” employment days organized by UNEATLANTICO offer students and professionals the opportunity to learn from successful experiences and gain knowledge about employability and career development. This event seeks to inspire participants and provide them with practical tools and advice to face the challenges of today’s job market.
