Dr. Jesús Espinosa, professor of history at the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) carried out a stay at the Autonomous University of Lisbon (UAL), in Portugal, through the Erasmus + programme.
During his stay, Dr. Espinosa carried out academic activities at this institution. In this context, the UNEATLANTICO lecturer gave classes in the International Relations degree of the UAL.
In turn, Dr. Espinosa gave a lecture entitled ‘economics in the short 20th century’ in which he presented an overview of the economic history of the 20th century, establishing links with the foreign policy of different countries. This session was attended by students from different degrees, such as Psychology, History, among others.
On the other hand, he offered a conference called Aula Aberta, which had as its theme ‘Feminisms in men and masculinity, a historiographical vision’ which was open to the entire university community.
Also present at the talk were different teachers from UAL such as Dr. Maria Luisa Jacquinet, professor of history in the degree and master’s degree in History and Heritage, Dr. Frédéric Vidal, professor of the department of history, art and humanities and Paula Pereira, professor of the department of international relations.
This experience has been a ‘professional and cultural enrichment’ for Espinosa, as he says, allowing him to apply all his knowledge in an international environment, and also to learn new methodologies, promoting dialogue between educational communities from different countries.
It should be noted that Dr. Espinosa’s participation in the UAL is a clear example of the international character with a global vision of education that is encouraged on the campus of UNEATLANTICO.
