The assembly hall of the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) has been the setting for a new session of the second edition of the employment conference “¿Y ahora qué? (And Now What?)” with the intervention of Dr. Antonio Bores, physical trainer of Esporte Clube Bahia, a Brazilian first division soccer team.
Antonio Bores, with a long list of degrees and experience to his credit, including a doctorate in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, several master’s degrees and a professional career that includes the physical preparation of first division teams and the Spanish National Indoor Football Team, has shared his experience and advice to the students of the Physical Activity and Sports Science degree students who are looking for their way in the professional world.
The physical trainer, who has also been the author of numerous scientific articles and books in the field of Sports Sciences, as well as professor and director of the degree at UNEATLANTICO, has emphasized the importance of traveling and experiencing the world. In relation to this, he talked about how he is on Erasmus, traveling and helping as much as possible, and how this experience has led him to his current position in Brazil.
Bores has also emphasized the impact one can have on the lives of others through one’s work. He explained that victories and medals are ephemeral. However, the impact one can have on a person’s life is long-lasting and much more significant. “A medal is 15 minutes, but changing a life lasts forever,” he said.
Similarly, the doctor has explored the theme of discovering one’s vocation and has motivated students to step out of their comfort zone, encouraging them to experiment and reflect on their true desires in life. “Sometimes, we make decisions deep in the storm, and it doesn’t allow us to see clearly,” he said. For those in doubt, he has advised them to take time to reflect, explore, and analyze before making important decisions about their path in life.
Antonio Bores’ speech at the “¿Y ahora qué?” employment conference has certainly left a lasting impression on the students and future professionals at UNEATLANTICO offering a valuable perspective from someone who has traveled a unique path in the world of sports.
