Victor Lamadrid, director of the Cantabria Film Commission gave information about the workshop ‘What is film and how is it made?’ for the students of the degree in Audiovisual Communication (CA) of the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO).
The intervention took place within the framework of the subject given by the teacher Ignacio Solana, who got in touch with Lamadrid with the aim of making this workshop known as an extra opportunity for the students of the degree in CA of UNEATLANTICO.
The workshop will take place on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 April at the Cantabria Film Library. The event has a maximum capacity of 40 people. The workshop aims to transmit a philosophy centred on the idea that making mistakes is part of the path to achievement. Its intention is to transmit the belief that everyone is a potential filmmaker and that every film deserves to be made.
The event is also organised with a series of talks and activities focused on filmmaking, with the aim of offering participants a broad vision of the audiovisual creation process.
Throughout the conference, as Lamadrid explained to the students of UNEATLANTICO, the attendees will be able to participate in different thematic sessions that will deal with key aspects of short film production. Among the topics to be covered during the sessions, the university students who participate will learn about basic notions to understand the language and particularities of the short film, how to prepare a good project dossier, the creation of budgets adjusted to each production, as well as strategies and fundamental tactics to carry out a film production efficiently.
Finally, it should be noted that UNEATLANTICO is increasingly committed to disseminating activities such as this that promote the professional development of students, providing them with a space for extracurricular learning, to further deepen the topics covered in the classroom.
