Vicente Bayarri, lecturer at the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), has participated in the webinar called “HBIM methodology and digital tools for the conservation of cultural heritage”. This seminar was organized by the International Center for the Study of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) and the Cultural Heritage Institute of Spain (IPEC).
The seminar was aimed at cultural heritage conservation professionals, architects, art historians, engineers, students and anyone interested in the subject. The seminar was open to the public free of charge and virtually.
The objectives of the program were to bring professionals closer to the conservation and restoration of the new digital tools, to know the strengths and weaknesses through practical examples of application, to present the state of the art in different countries. Also, to conclude the seminar, an open discussion forum was held with the participation of all participants and a series of periodic meetings on this specific topic was initiated.
Bayarri gave a talk titled: Rock Art Cave Information Modeling (RACIM): Digital Twinning of Prehistoric Caves with Rock Art. His talk was based on the new technologies and tools developed to conserve rock art and give people access to observe it, without damaging the place where it was created.
UNEATLANTICO backs and supports teachers and researchers in the realization of lectures and courses. In the same vein, it should be noted that Bayarri has participated in a series of events and a wide variety of conferences, including the program of events for the 15th anniversary of the recognition of Cantabrian rock art as World Heritage, as well as the various conferences within the framework of the summer courses of the Menéndez Pelayo International University.
