The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) and Publicaciones del Cantábrico S.L., the publisher of elDiario Cantabria, have signed a strategic partnership agreement. The main aim of this agreement is to promote the 3rd Communication Conference: Digital Transformation and the Future of the Media in the Age of AI.
The agreement was formally signed by the university’s rector, Rubén Calderón Iglesias, and by Luis Fernando Barquín Escobar, the publishing house’s director, thereby cementing a partnership that aims to combine academic rigour with the realities of the media sector.
The central focus of this partnership will be the organisation of the 3rd Conference on Artificial Intelligence, to be held next April, an event in which the university will play an active role in coordinating the content. The event is designed as a forum for in-depth analysis for media and journalism professionals, focusing on how the emergence of generative technologies and automation are transforming the profession.
The conference will address the impact of artificial intelligence on the practice of journalism and analyse the challenges and opportunities these technologies present for the news sector.
Through this initiative, UNEATLANTICO reinforces its commitment to institutional collaboration and cutting-edge education. By promoting activities that directly link the classroom with the realities of the industry, the university provides a vital professional immersion experience for students of Journalism (PER), Audiovisual Communication (CA) and Advertising and Public Relations (PRP), preparing them for the current challenges of the job market.
