UNEATLANTICO welcomes students of the Master’s Degree in Sports Performance: Training and Functional Assessment

The auditorium of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) hosts the inauguration of the face-to-face phase of the Master in Sports Performance: Training and Functional Assessment welcoming all national and international students.


The presentation of the third edition of this high-level academic program was attended by Dr. Roberto Ruiz, Secretary General and Vice Rector of International Relations of UNEATLANTICO; Dr. Álvaro Velarde Sotres, coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Physical Activity and Sport; Dr. Carlos Lago, academic director of the degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CAFYD); Dr. Nicolás Terrados, academic director of the Master’ s Degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CAFYD); and Dr. Nicolás Terrados, academic director of the Master’s Degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CAFYD), Dr. Nicolás Terrados, coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences; Dr. Nicolás Terrados, a recognized expert in sports medicine and high performance; Professor Julio Calleja-González, who also has notable experience as a basketball physical trainer; and Dr. Antonio Tramullas, a renowned physician specializing in Sports Medicine and with extensive professional experience in basketball and soccer.
During the presentation, Roberto Ruiz emphasized that this is a master’s degree in which around a hundred students have enrolled over the years. “One of the characteristics of our University, fundamentally, is its strong commitment to internationality. Of the approximately ten thousand students that our university has at different levels of study, practically 33% come from 40 different nationalities”. He also mentioned that this year’s edition will start with 25 students from countries such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay and Spain.
For his part, Álvaro Velarde emphasized the importance of taking advantage of the master’s degree and learning from the prestigious professionals who will accompany them during the on-site phase of the Master’s Degree in Sports Performance. During this time, participants will be able to enjoy a variety of activities, including practical workshops and presentations of great relevance, such as those that took place at the end of the presentation.
The Master’s Degree in Sports Performance: Training and Functional Assessment provides students with a comprehensive training that combines learning and assimilation of concepts necessary to develop the demanding and multidisciplinary tasks of sports performance. The objective is to train specialized professionals capable of planning, designing and developing training programs at all levels, optimizing resources to achieve the desired performance.
