UNEATLANTICO visits the University of Aveiro during its International Staff Week 2024
Leticia Díaz represents UNEATLANTICO at the International Staff Week of the University of Aveiro.

Leticia Díaz, member of the International Relations Office of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), attended the event held by the University of Aveiro (Portugal) the week of June 17-21.

With the theme of “Intercultural Communication” as the central theme of the International Week of the University of Aveiro, representatives of several international universities took the opportunity to talk about issues such as inclusion, integration and cultural diversity, as well as to promote internationalization activities, and to strengthen and create new opportunities for collaboration within the European mobility program Erasmus+.
In addition to extensive talks on the integration of foreign students, a subject in which the University of Aveiro has extensive experience, receiving more than two thousand international students every year, many of them belonging to the network of Portuguese-speaking countries, several networking sessions and workshops were held, where attendees had the opportunity to share best practices and knowledge.

According to Díaz, “UNEATLANTICO has more than 30% of international students, mostly from Latin America and Spanish-speaking countries, so learning how to manage this type of mobility with universities as experienced as Aveiro is a privilege”.
The program also included extracurricular activities, such as a tour of the different campuses and facilities, a visit to the city – famous for its center, full of modernist buildings, and for its canals – and even a ride on moliceiro (boats similar to Venetian gondolas).
The meeting brought together the universities Kutaisi International (Georgia); University Politehnica Timișoara and “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” of Iași (Romania); Yerevan State University (Armenia), University North Croatia (Croatia); University of Sarajevo (Bosnia); the Universities of Applied Sciences of Düsseldorf and Niederrhein, as well as the University of Education Schwäbisch Gmünd (Germany); University in Czestochowa and Lodz University of Technology (Poland); Universitá di Trento (Italy); and UNEATLANTICO, together with the universities of Huelva, Córdoba and the Catholic University of Ávila as representatives of Spain.
