The European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) has had an outstanding participation in the recent Spanish University Championships, where its students have won a total of five medals in various sports disciplines.
In the discipline of judo, student Iker Vega won the bronze medal. Martín González won the silver medal in karate, the only silver medal won by a UNEATLANTICO student. The greatest individual success was achieved by Pablo Sánchez, who won two gold medals in athletics, specifically in the long jump and triple jump, thus winning the only gold medals for the university in this edition of the championships. It should be noted that this is not Pablo’s first gold medal, as he won one two years ago in the triple jump.
In the surfing discipline, organized through the University’s Physical Activity and Sports Service (SAFD) and sponsored by the Regional Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Sports and the Regional Society for Education, Culture, and Sports, the results were also very positive, with Gaspar Bezanilla winning the bronze medal in the men’s surfboard category, while Noah Arenas also took bronze in the bodyboard event, thus completing a great performance in this discipline.
The European University of the Atlantic would like to congratulate all our athletes for their effort, commitment, and competitive spirit. We would also like to thank the SAFD team for their work in organizing the surfing tournament and their constant support for university sports.
