UNEATLANTICO student, Cátia Sofia Mendes, takes part in one of the open tables of the “Young Europe Dialogue”

Representing the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), Juan Luis Vidal, professor and director of the International Relations Office (ORI), together with female students of the university have attended the “Young Europe Dialogue”, organized by the Parliament of Cantabria.
“Young Europe Dialogue” is part of one of the local dialogues supported by the European Committee of the Regions in its aim to bring Europe and European affairs closer to the territories and which also has the collaboration of the Directorate General of European Funds of the Government of Cantabria. Being a way to make known the concerns of young people regarding the situation in Europe.


The event consisted of three round tables, moderated by the journalist of Cadena SER, Jana Sanchez. Given the proximity of the elections to the European Parliament, certain political parties participated in the first one, presenting their proposals and the possible improvements they can offer to Europe. They were also interested in the concerns and expectations of young people with Europe.
An entrepreneur, a scientific researcher from the University of Cantabria, a painter, a farmer and a representative of Cantabria Team Europe, formed the second table, in which they raised the situation of those who are starting in the world of work and their expectations about the next Europe.
Also, in the third of the round tables, the Portuguese student of UNEATLANTICO, Cátia Sofia, participated as a “European in Cantabria”, telling her experience in the community as a student, the problems she faces and what she expects from Europe. In addition, a variety of personalities from the Cantabrian political and business world attended the event, which was accompanied by moments of “coffee breaks” and “networking”.
The event was closed by the Director General of Local Administration, External Action and Casas de Cantabria, and the Director General of European Funds of the Government of Cantabria.
This type of initiative has contributed to broaden the knowledge of the students, making them know first hand the association and its importance. They also understand the relevance it has when it comes to helping young people.
