UNEATLANTICO relaunches its radio with a live broadcast and high participation of the university community

The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European Atlantic University UNEATLANTICO) celebrated the relaunch of its university radio, a renewed space that seeks to promote creativity, participation and communication among the academic community. The event took place with a live broadcast from the university lobby, streamed on YouTube, and was attended by numerous guests, professors and students.

The inaugural program, presented by journalism student Paula Díaz-Velarde, included interviews, participatory activities and informative sections in a relaxed and collaborative atmosphere. Among the most outstanding proposals was the “Test your voice”, an initiative that allowed students to experience how their voice sounds in the microphones, as well as leave their suggestions and podcast proposals for the new course.

During the day, the director of communication degrees, Helena Garay, and Ángela Ruiz, teacher of communication degrees, reflected on the role of radio as a training tool. The director of communication degrees stressed that this relaunch represents “a space of freedom, less academic, where students can discover their voice and creativity”. He also invited all students to get involved in the project, “because radio is one of the great discoveries of those who study communication”.

For his part, Jesús Peña, Secretary General of UNEATLANTICO, spoke about the evolution of the environment, recalling how the new stage of university radio is “back to conversation” and recover the original spirit of closeness and participation.

The broadcast also included the intervention of the Director of the Office of International Relations (ORI), Juan Luis Vidal, who recalled the steps to apply for his place for Erasmus and explained the international offer of the university. He also spoke about the DIVERSE alliance, a consortium of 12 European universities that is expanding mobility opportunities for students.

Manuel Masías, director of the Escuela Politécnica, also analysed the role of technology in radio communication, while an educ a-tion teacher stressed the importance of linking training with vocational practice, Proposing the creation of podcasts as a class activity.

The member responsible for the Service of Physical Activity and Sport (SAFD), Josep Alemani, presented the next sports activities of the university, among them the tenth edition of the Saint Sylvester, to be held on Wednesday 17 December at 16:00:00 hours, accompanied by the traditional chocolate. He also spoke about the paddle tennis league, football and training groups. Marta, a trainee at SAFD, took the opportunity to suggest the creation of sports podcasts.

The space also included the reading of the newsletter and the participation of several students, among them a communication student who shared his experience in the university, highlighting his practices, personal growth and proposals for the new stage of radio.

With this relaunch, UNEATLANTICO reaffirms its commitment to practical training and innovation in communication, offering a space where students can learn, experience and express themselves freely.
