The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) welcomed Joel Barreto, director of International Relations of the Universidade Internacional do Cuanza (International University of Cuanza, UNIC), at its campus on November 30. During his stay in Santander, Barreto was received by the rector of UNEATLANTICO, Rubén Calderón, with the fundamental objective of strengthening collaboration between the two institutions.
This meeting has made it possible to strengthen the links between UNIC and UNEATLANTICO, thus consolidating their collaboration in joint projects. A close cooperation between the two institutions that has its roots since the inauguration of UNIC. Since then, the two universities have collaboratively engaged in various activities.
Barreto held a meeting with his counterpart at UNEATLANTICO, the Director of International Relations, Juan Luis Vidal, and met the team of the International Relations Office (ORI). During their stay, the General Secretary of UNEATLANTICO, Roberto Ruiz, and the Deputy General Secretary, Jesús Peña, held a meeting with UNIC’s Director of International Relations.
He was also accompanied on a tour of the campus, so that he could familiarize himself with the facilities. In this way, Barreto had the opportunity to get to know in depth the work carried out in the laboratories, the radio studio and the television set, the sports pavilion, and the UNEATLANTICO classrooms. Later, he had a meeting with the director of the university residence, Ana Bustamante.
Meeting with Angolan students of UNEATLANTICO
A key part of Joel Barreto’s visit was a meeting with Angolan students studying at UNEATLANTICO. This meeting provided Barreto with an insight into the fruitful experience so far of the students from Angola.
The importance of these exchanges is not only limited to the academic field but also has a direct impact on the internationalization that takes place in the halls of the university campus. It seeks to encourage the participation of more UNIC students in exchange programs, enriching their education and contributing to the multicultural environment at UNEATLANTICO.
