UNEATLANTICO promotes the DigitalTA project at a conference on Erasmus+ initiatives in Segovia

Dr Thomas Prola, lecturer at the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) and co-coordinator of the DigitalTA project (2022-2025), participated on 15 January in the ‘Internationalisation and Dissemination of Erasmus+ Projects’ conference, organised by the Centre for Training and Educational Innovation of Segovia (CFIE Segovia) in the auditorium of the Mariano Quintanilla Secondary School in Segovia and which was attended by more than 80 teachers from the town.

After welcoming the attendees and presenting the day’s programme, Javier Magdaleno Fuentetaja, Head of the Teacher Training, Innovation and Internationalisation Service, opened the event by presenting the DigitalTA project.

Next, Nadia Sánchez Santos, Technical Teaching Advisor (TTA) for Bilingualism and Internationalisation of the Provincial Directorate of Segovia, informed the attendees about the Erasmus+ 2025 call for proposals. This information was complemented by the presentation ‘The importance of Erasmus+ for the internationalisation of centres, useful advice’ by Andrés Ajo Lázaro, former director of the School Education and Adult Education Unit of the Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education (SEPIE).

Dr Thomas Prola, together with CFIE Segovia advisors Jesús Solera and María Fuentes, presented the progress of the project to the attendees. During the session, other Erasmus+ experiences were shared in a round table discussion. Finally, Diego Pozo, head of the Provincial Directorate of Education of Segovia, was in charge of closing the conference.

On the DigitalTA project platform, teachers from the different member countries share their questions and concerns, especially in the case of students and novice teachers, to which the most expert teachers respond in the role of mentors and tutors, and even among themselves. From Segovia, mainly active teachers participate, both novices and mentors. These teachers contribute to the enrichment of the platform with the experiences, cases and resources they provide. The conference symbolised a moment of encounter between them to share their experiences with the platform.

This activity is in addition to other outreach events previously held at UNEATLANTICO. In October last year, more than a hundred students from the Degree in Primary Education and the Master’s Degree in Teacher Training for Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching at the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), accompanied by several of their teachers, attended the presentation of the project’s digital platform.

The project, led by the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), also involves: AP University of Applied Sciences and Arts Antwerp (AP) from Belgium; Uniwersytet Jana Kochanowskiego w Kielcach (UJK) and Swiętokrzyskie Centrum Doskonalenia Nauczycieli (ŚCDN) from Poland, as well as the Centro de Formación del Profesorado de Segovia (CFIE) and the Fundación Universitaria Iberoamericana (F UNIBER) in Spain.
