UNEATLANTICO present at the inauguration of the Tiempo Mujer Conference in Torrelavega that advocates gender equality

The Chamber of Commerce of Torrelavega hosts the inauguration of the Tiempo Mujer Conference, an event in commemoration of International Women’s Day in which the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) joins as a collaborator and prominent participant with the aim of highlighting the fundamental role of women in society.

Rector of UNEATLANTICO, Rubén Calderón, has witnessed the opening of this conference organized by APEMECAC, the Foundation of the College of Nurses and the Association of Creators of Cantabria, in collaboration with the City Council of Torrelavega. The initiative, under the slogan “Investing in women, accelerating progress”, seeks to make visible and give relevance to the impact of women in various social spheres.

The opening ceremony was also attended by the President of Cantabria, María José Sáenz de Buruaga; the President of the Parliament, María José González Revuelta; the Government Delegate in Cantabria, Eugenia Gómez de Diego; and the Mayor of Torrelavega, Javier López Estrada. Their participation demonstrates the institutional commitment to the promotion of equality and the prominent position of women in society.

On the other hand, UNEATLANTICO will be represented in these conferences by Samuel Allende, Academic Coordinator of the of Primary Education Degree, and Deva Nuñez, delegate of the 4th year of the same degree. Today, February 28 at 5:30 p.m., both will present  the paper “Educating for the Future, Educating in Equality”, addressing crucial issues on education with a gender perspective.

This event is a space for the exchange of ideas and experiences that will contribute to the advancement of gender equality, with the participation of thirty women political and institutional representatives, researchers, professors, businesswomen, managers, executives, entrepreneurs, nurses, doctors, journalists, psychologists, and representatives of entities focused on social responsibility, disability, and social exclusion. 

The program includes several round tables and presentations that will address significant issues related to gender equity. These include round tables under the following titles: “Political and Institutional Participation in Equality”, “The Challenge of Businesswomen and Entrepreneurs”, “Women and Health”, “Social Responsibility in the Field of Disability, Exclusion, and Vulnerability”, “Feminism in Plural Key”, and “Chamber in Feminine”. Likewise, there will be presentations such as “The Contribution of Women Researchers in the Fight Against Cancer”, “How to Become a CEO and Not Die Trying”, “Building Narratives of Success: Women, Communication, and Business”, and “Educating for the Future, Educating for Equality”.
