The Fundación Universitaria Iberoamericana (FUNIBER) is organising, in collaboration with the Universidad Europea del Atlántico, the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (UNINI Mexico), the Fundación Universitaria Internacional de Colombia (UNINCOL) and the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (UNINI Puerto Rico), the international photography competition PHotoFUNIBER’22.
FUNIBER, through its Obra Cultural, is launching the fourth edition of the competition with the aim of disseminating art and knowledge around the world. The registration period is now open and will end on 2 March at 23:59 PM (Spanish time). The winners will be announced on 11 May.
Participation is open to any person of legal age, amateur and/or professional photographers resident in any of the countries where FUNIBER has a presence. Participants must submit their own images that have not been awarded in other competitions, nor have they been commercially exploited and that are included in the theme of the contest. In this sense, all the requirements in terms of participation, technical and artistic aspects can be consulted through this link.
Interested parties may participate in four different categories:
- Nature: Photographs of natural environments, fauna, flora, water, among other elements of nature.
- Heritage: Photographs of cultural elements such as architecture, dance, gastronomy, crafts, music, among others.
- Photojournalism: Photographs that express human complexities through people, events and actions that represent human values such as solidarity, cooperation, education and personal development.
- Abstract: Photographs produced with or without digital or handmade manipulation, representing an original idea, concept or aesthetic.
As for the prizes, the winner of each category chosen by the jury will receive a prize of €400 and an 80% scholarship to study one of the postgraduate programmes promoted by FUNIBER. The photograph with most public votes will also receive a prize of 300 euros and a 50% scholarship to study a postgraduate programme sponsored by the organisation.
Special prizes will also be awarded to students and alumni of UNEATLANTICO, as well as to postgraduate students with FUNIBER scholarships, who have completed their studies or are currently studying.
For each category, there may be honourable mentions and the winning photographs will be exhibited in the exhibition hall of the European University of the Atlantic. Afterwards, the exhibition will be toured around some of the countries where FUNIBER has a presence through its cultural work.
