UNEATLANTICO participates in the conference “Bruselas en Cantabria” organized by IDIVAL

The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European Atlantic University, UNEATLANTICO) was represented by Dr. Mar Pacheco, Director of the UNEATLANTICO Project Department; and Dr. Juan Luis Martín, Vice-Rector for Research and Transfer of Knowledge, who attended as guests to the conference “Brussels in Cantabria: opportunities from Europe for managers from Cantabria”, organized by the Fundación Instituto de Investigación Marqués de Valdecilla (IDIVAL), in collaboration with the Office of the Government of Cantabria in Brussels and other key players in the regional R&D&I ecosystem.

This conference aims to create the “R & D and innovation map of Cantabria for Europe” and analyse opportunities for European funding with the aim of strengthening the region’s participation in European programmes. The initiative aims to foster synergies between public and private entities, facilitate the identification of calls, boost the conceptualisation of proposals and help overcome common barriers in accessing EU funds.

The conference featured the prominent participation of Inma Valencia Bayón, director of the Office of the Government of Cantabria in Brussels, who shared her experience and knowledge on the positioning of Cantabria at the European level, addressing key aspects such as institutional networking, access to European funding and strategies for maximising regional impact.

This meeting will promote the creation of a Cantabrian Network of European Project Managers, aimed both at participants in the previous edition and new managers and heads of Cantabrian institutions interested in European funding. The day was consolidated as a space for connection, exchange of experiences and collaboration, encouraging more organizations to join future joint initiatives.

The involvement of Dr. Mar Pacheco and Dr. Juan Luis Martín reinforces UNEATLANTICO’s commitment to institutional cooperation, the internationalization of research and the attraction of competitive European funding, aligning with regional and European strategies for innovation and development.
