The European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), in collaboration with the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER), the Illustrious Official College of Psychology of Cantabria, the Padre Menni Hospital Center and the Association Tolerance 0 to Bullying, organize the second day for the Prevention of School Bullying and Cyberbullying to raise awareness about this problem that affects millions of children and young people around the world.
As part of this day, UNEATLANTICO will organize a round table on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 18:00hrs in the auditorium of the University, which will have as its theme: Should adolescence be free of mobiles until the age of 16?
The event will be attended by Dr. José Villasante Espino, director of CEIP Quinta Porrúa in Santander, and expert in the TEI program; Dr. Isabel Diego, professor at UNEATLANTICO, expert in clinical psychology and member of the College of Psychologists, and Dr. Laura Cuesta, professor of Cybercommunication and New Media at the University Camilo José Cela (UCJC) and expert in Digital Education. Also present will be Ms. Lourdes Verdeja, director of the Asociación Tolerancia 0 al Bullying de Cantabria, and Dr. Vanessa Yélamos, professor at UNEATLANTICO in the area of Psychology, expert in cyberbullying and coordinator of the Conference on Prevention against Bullying and Cyberbullying.
The forum aims to raise awareness about bullying and cyberbullying from the perspective of the excessive use that teenagers make of cell phones, focusing on the risks they face on social networks.
The speakers will address the evolution of bullying in cyberbullying situations. In addition, they will discuss the accompaniment of families to develop a model of positive parenting that can serve to identify and address risk behaviors that their children may develop in the digital environment.
