The European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) organizes the second Day for the Prevention of Bullying and Cyberbullying in its facilities. This day was organized jointly with the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), the Padre Menni Hospital Center and the Illustrious College of Psychology of Cantabria and the Association Tolerance 0 to Bullying.
The conference consisted of a round table discussion on the topic “Should adolescence be free of cell phones until the age of 16? The round table was moderated by Dr. Juan Luis Martín, director of the degree in Psychology (PSI) of UNEATLANTICO.

Dr. Isabel Diego, Professor at UNEATLANTICO. Clinical psychologist. Member of the College of Psychologists of Cantabria.
Dr. Laura Cuesta, Professor of Cybercommunication and New Media at the University Camilo José Cela. Specialist in training families and teachers in the proper use of technology, author of the book “Growing up with screens”.
Dr. Vanessa Yélamos, Professor UNEATLANTICO, Academic Coordinator of the postgraduate program in Intervention in cyber-risk behavior in children and adolescents.
Ms. Lourdes Verdeja, Social Services Professional, Director of the Association Tolerance 0 Bullying in Cantabria.
The forum focused mainly on the advantages and disadvantages of postponing the use of cell phones until the age of 16. It also aimed to raise awareness about bullying and cyberbullying. It also discussed the various ways in which bullying and cyberbullying prevention can be more effective. This is the second year that the conference on prevention against cyberbullying and bullying has been held. Last year, a virtual conversation was held with the teacher Vanessa Yélamos, in which the topic “Bullying and cyberbullying: intervention from the family, through the model of positive parenting” was addressed. In addition to that, a radio episode entitled “Let’s talk about bullying and cyberbullying” was also produced in conjunction with FUNIBER.
